Do i need to follow the Cycle & Carriage Servicing schedule for my Picanto?

i have gone thru several services, about 35K mileage now. but it's getting more and more expensive. the last service i had was about S$200 just for the Synergy Oil. They also change my battery for S$120, saying it's weak. plus other things, i'm not too sure, about another S$60. is this all normal? I thought of going to other servicing centre, where it cost me like S$70+ for my previous old Suzuki Swift. What do you think? Do you think it's better to follow the schedule, maybe they know better about Picanto (Auto)?

  1. depend what the S$200 if for. if it's for 10km, then it's quite okay.

  2. Your guess is as good as mine, I am not going to say anything about C&C to avoid any legal stuff, after all  is the warrantly period over? Go to any good servicing workshop and have it done instead without the hassle of booking for your appointment and leave you car and later collect back. Find one near your place of work or home at your own pace.  Now adays everything increase even our wanton mee and char kway teow

  3. I avoid any of the Dealership Service Centers.  Their expertise is based on the name and you have no guarantee of service standard.  The brand name on a mechanics work uniform doesn't prove he knows which direction to turn a wrench.  Yes they do have supervisors but how rare is it for someone to find a solution on their own rather than admit to the boss or customer they don't know.

Definitely take it to some one you trust.  Find out the status of your engine and drive train warranty and don't perform any service to void it if it's still in place.  Your trusted workshop will probably help you figure that out.

    Good Luck
