in australia - it is really strictly controled.

but in america i am pretty sure you can just buy one from a gun store.

As far as I know if it's a hand gun, you have to take classes and get a permit. Rifle, shot gun no you don't.

Oh yeah they have to do a back ground check on you also

Some sort of identification saying you're of legal age. Other than that mine was just a walk-in sort of deal. You sign some papers...they fax them out and get them signed...when they get those papers back you meet back with them and they sign their half.
