Do i need to have a passport?

im planning on going to mexico this month im leaving from tijuana and and coming back in from there too. do i need to have a passport in order to get in to the u.s. if its by land?

You are OK for this month.  But you might as well apply for a passport cause you'll need it sooner or later.

You got ALL wrong answes from people operating on rumor, not  facts.  Passports are NOT needed for Land travel toand from Mexico until summer 2009.  See site below to see that you willneed a photo I.D.and a proof of citizenship...EITHER a passport OR a birth certificate.  The word EITHER in that sentence makes all the difference.

No, for a while. in sum months your gonna be required to use a passport. So unless your going for a short trip(a couple months), then you need a passport. with immigration and all. but you should know how tight security is around these day. they dont mind you much if your leaving the US but are super tight on who goes in!
