  1. It depends on where you live. In Montgomery County, MD, they accept recycling mixed (glass, plastic) in one bin, and paper (non-food contaminated) in another. In Mongomery County, MD you do NOT have to remove the labels, but you DO need to wash the items thoroughly. Throw caps away (do not include in recycling.)

  2. This really does depend on where you live. In the county I live in the UK you can leave the labels and the (metal) lids on glass bottles and jars. We can also mix opaque plastic milk containers with clear plastic water bottles. You are best to enquire locally.

  3. I have been to several different recycling centers here in CA and they are all different. The one I go to tells you to take the lids off the water bottles but they omit the information that you can recycle them they just need to be off the bottles so when they smash them they do not explode! Milk cartons have a different # on the bottom so those are separate. And the glass is usually separated by color. Where I live you can bring in a coupon From the pennysaver or greensheet and get a higher price for what you bring in! Good luck!

  4. Be sure you wash the containers out, I just toss them in the dishwasher, and take the lids off.

  5. You need to remove the lids  & labels and rinse the bottle out.  Look at your milk jug and see what the recycling code on it is - it should be on th bottom.
