I have a 1996 Honda Accord. Yesterday, it was driving just fine. This morning, when i got in to drive, there was literally 1/2 inch of tension in the clutch. I didnt have any trouble changing gear and made it the 3 miles to work. By the time I got to work, it gave me about another inch of tension. I haven't driven it since, but am wondering if clutch replacement is around the corner (like tomorrow) since this was so sudden?

  1. my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop maybe there other problem..

  2. If you didn't have any previous problems with the clutch i would not worry about replacing it. First i would check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder, if it's too low then air got in the line and it needs to be bleeded. if the fluid is fine, it could either be the clutch master cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder

  3. I think this is a Hydraulically actuated Clutch. Could it be the Master or Slave Cylinder? Is the Clutch Master Reservoir low on fluid? I'm not sure what you mean by "Tension". Are you talking about travel or feel of the peddle?
