I have a 2000 gmc sierra and the key goes into the keyhole to start but doesnt turn

  1. chip in key is not being read by computer possible passlock failure


  2. try wiggling the steering wheel it has a built in locking mechanism

  3. It's probably the steering wheel lock. Try turning the wheel while you turn the key in the ignition.
