  1. I have been in the military for the past 28 years in total, 8 years active duty and 20 in the reserves. I can assure you that if you do not disclose it to the Navy, and you do join, by the time that you are processed to be cleared by the NSA for your security clearance, they will find out, and they will at that point process you for an administrative discharge, for erroneous enlistment.

If you do decide to disclose, it may not be as bad as you think the situation is, depending on your particular circumstance, there maybe a waiver available. In either case, everything has a way of coming out during the security clearance process. And do remember that you are signing documents and attesting that you are providing complete information to the government that are to your best knowledge, True and Accurate.

    Good Luck to you.
