Do i need to take drivers ed before i get my permit in MA?

I'm 16 in about 2 months and i haven't taken drivers ed yet, and i was wondering if i could still get my permit when im 16 without having to take drivers ed.

you dont , thats the point of the drivers permit o you can learn how to drive but you need to take drivers ed. to get your license, im wondering how old you have to be to take drivers ed..... gl..

You do not have to go to driver's ed. before you get your

MA driver's permit.
