My son just got a paintball gun and the directions say to unhook the air supply when storing it. He shot it tonight, and wants to shoot it tomorrow, do I need to unhook the co2 overnight? Also my husband unscrewed the canister and there was a huge hissing noise. Is that normal when you take it off?

  1. No, just leave it all hooked up. Because when you take it off it leaks ALOT of air (hence the hissing noise). Trust me it'll be fine.

  2. Even if you leave it on all night you can over compress with an Co2 gun so if it was me i'd take it off. So the head valve doesnt pop off and then u have none. The gas doesn't just sit there, it is ready to fire applying force the gun.

  3. dont take it off...that will waste the co2. hissing means it came out.

  4. yes to all

  5. yes you want to take the tank off when your done because you dont want the pressure to be on your seals and o-rings for an extended amount of time. it will cause them to leak over time. and its for safty reasons.

the hissing sound is perfectly normal. just make sure you take the tank off fast so that you dont lose that much air. you and get a on/off valve for you drop forward so that you can just s***w the on/off valve on and off. it saves air and i think its safer.

sometimes when i would take my tank off of my gun the tank would have a little presure from the air and it would shoot off. not really hard that it would go across a room or anything but it can do it.
