Do i need to wax a new snowboard?

I just got a new K2 snowboard. Do i need to wax it before I use it the first time?

  1. You shouldn't have to...in fact....don't. Boards come pre-waxed from the factory and should be good to go for a couple of day's riding. If it feels a little slow, then you might consider waxing it, but try it out first.

  2. Even if they all come "waxed and tuned" from the factory, it's c**p.  Definitely get it waxed and tuned before you ride it first.  The wax on the board isn't any good, i promise

  3. dont wax it--it already is--i have a k2 nemesis that i got 2 years ago(but only about 7 riding days) and i still didn't re-wax it...went out yesterday on a powder day @sugarloaf and was still flying by my buddy on the flat sections of trail..you definitely do not need to wax it brand new and no the factory wax is not c**p like the aforementioned contributir said--at least not k2 factory wax....good board choice by the way, i love mine and will take it to my grave with me!!!!
