Do i need to worry about pre-sats if i am going in to 9th grade next year?

i am going in to 9th grade next year and my mom is after me telling me every second to look for pre-sat classes or find free tests. do i need to worry or wait till i start 9th grade? where can i get free online pre-sat tests?

  1. Well, the PSAT test is good practice for the SAT, which you will probably start taking your junior year. I wouldn't worry about it freshman year as you have probably not completed enough math courses to know everything.

    The PSAT test is also qualification for the National Merit competition when you take it your junior year, so it would be good for you to take it your sophomore year so that you can get a feel for that. If you are qualified, the PSAT can be just as important as the SAT itself because of National Merit!


  2. most people take PSAT's in tenth grade.  if you're going to take them as a freshman, i wouldn't recommend taking a class first.  see how you do on the test, then from there see what you need to work on and if you need to take a prep class.
