Do i need two amps that supply 1000rms each to power two 1000rms subs?

i am wondering if i need 2000rms amp to power 2 1000rms subs each

  1. not enough info. what is the max watts per sub are they dvc what ohm are they ext. the rule is 2/3 the max then turn the gain down. if you run an amp at full tilt you will burn it up. buy an amp at 2/3 the max of the speaker at rms power then turn the amp down Intel it doesn't distort at full volume.  


  2. no you dont, you can power both with the 1000 watt, what kind of subs are they and what kind of amp was you looking at? rockford make great amps, look at the T2000bd1 that will put about 2500 rms to those 2 subs
