  1. If you have insulation already up where the garage meets the house then it should already have vapour barrier on the house side. VP always goes on the warm side. Check to make sure. Hopefully you already have it drywalled and insulated where the garage walls are also interior house walls. If you are insulating and drywalling the rest of the garage where the walls back to the exterior then again the VP goes on the warm side....the garage interior. If you are doing it just for looks with no insulation then you don't need VP. If you heat the garage at all in the winter and you have insulation with no VP then you will get frost buildup behind your drywall. When you put it up, make sure all the joints are sealed well with VP tape. It's like $10 a roll but is worth it. Don't use anything else as it will just fall off behind your drywall after a year or two and you will lose your 'vapour barrier'

  2. I say go for it a vapor barrier will keep the moisture out of the garage Good Luck

  3. it would be a good idea, keeps humidity down. helps the insulation work better.

  4. It wouldn't hurt to check with a couple of contractors in your area to see what they typically recommend.

Also, see the following web page on house wrap for more info about barriers:

    Hope this helps.
