  1. The UK is one of 27 countries currently in the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

    1)  The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables nationals of the 27 countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa.

    2)  All VWP travelers, regardless of age or type of passport used, must present individual machine -readable passports.  In addition, depending on when VWP travelers’ passports were issued, other passport requirements apply.

See the following site for complete details:

  2. Generally speaking, persons from the U.K. do not require a visa because they may be eligible for the visa waiver program.

The visa waiver program does not apply to British overseas citizens, British dependent territories' citizens, or citizens of British Commonwealth countries).

If arriving by air or sea, your mother would have to:

    1) present her U.K. passport,

    2) possess a round trip ticket,

    3) need to arrive on a carrier that has an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security.

If arriving by land, she would need to provide evidence of financial solvency and a domicile (place where she lives) abroad to which she intends to return.

Consult an experienced immigration attorney as every case is unique.

  4. up to 6 months u dont need any visa

  5. don't need a visa if your uk citizen, i think that she will get a enter to leave stamp for three months which should be enough for her. just need to show a uk passport and round trip ticket.

  6. no - Uk citizens do no need visitors visa but do NOT overstay visa and make sure you get an exit stamp on the way out - if you will be doing any business there you want to make sure you have no legal problems and with all the 911 hijackers overstaying their student visas etc USA has gotten VERY vigilent about checking visa status - if you overstay ONCE you can be denied future entry
