  1. If you live in the USA and you plan to travel anywhere outside of the country then yes you need a visa. Even if you plan to go to Canada.

  2. If you are from any country other than those belonging to the EU (european union countries) you will definitely need a visa.

Here is a website for the embassies...

The best place for finding out location of consulates and embassies so you can find out the requisites...

  3. Yes, You need a passport for traveling and to leave a country you need a visa to go to a different country.

  4. depends where you are from

  5. Not from a European Union country, or from the US for under three months.  I don't think from Canada, and most of the Latin American countries are good, too, I think (not sure)

check with the Spanish Consulate or Embassy nearest you, or do an online search.

Correction on the other posters:  YOU DO NOT NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE US IF YOU ARE A US CITIZEN.  YOU ONLY NEED A PASSPORT.

That would cover almost all travel under certain time limits...three months for Spain...probably same for all Europe.

Other countries, you would need to check, but a visa is not required for ordinary travel, only long stays.  I lived in Europe for an entire year and never got a visa.  only a passport.   Special Student stay for the long stay, but those rules HAVE changed.

  6. Americans do not need a visa you can stay for 90 days.

6 mos if you are a student with no visa.  Longer than 6 mos as a student then you need one.
