  1. you'd have to apply and they usually turn you down the first couple of times. you would have to keep trying

  2. You can try and apply for it. But the only thing I think is would it be better to do something with your day even if it is a couple of hours a day work. Because if you are at home all day is all you will do is sit and be unhappy. I can understand that you are in pain in doing some things but it would be better for you mentally to try and carry on.

  3. Go ahead and apply for it , what have you got to lose?

Your doctor should give you a report on your condition/s and if you qualify it will be backdated.

    Good luck.

  4. It really depends on what your abilities are. Can you walk? Can you see? Can you hear? Yes. But it sounds like you could be close to being physically disabled so give it about a year because you might well be disabled.

  5. I was given Disability in 1998, ten years ago! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriasis am on drugs and I can walk three miles three times a week. I also have a prolapsed disc and was in a wheelchair for three months! Problem being I am in a Grey Area. RA does not work on any 9-5 basis, so some days I might do noon to 6pm, other days I might manage 10am to 6pm, sleep and then 9pm to 3am. I have x-rays, blood tests, MRI and tons of Medical Consultants Letters stating I have various health problems, but up until last year I was still looking for employment, not getting any. So if you end up on Disability, how do you plan to fill your day, night, weeks, months and years? Disability sounds wonderful, you receive money for doing nothing. However that also means you have to live within your 'means' you allowance, which means that normal everyday things like going on Holiday, owing a Car, buying clothes, shoes, let alone food, is a daily struggle. During the Summer when the sun is out, all shop assistants say 'I wish..........' they want the day off to sun bathe and wish they were on Disability. In the Winter, when you have to put heating on, extra cost. So while is sounds idyllic, in my experience it is far from idyllic and work would be easier. Best of Luck

  6. I hope you do not qualify.  I have had alot of mental health issues in the past, now I take no drugs for it.  I have had 2 knee surgeries and have CRPS; an extremely painful condition.  I work 40+ hours a week.  They have programs in your area that they will train you for a job that you can do based on your specific needs/problems.  Don't give up.  There are people that work with pain conditions everyday and never complain.  You can't let the pain or your mental issues become who are you.
