Do i really need drivers ed?

I'm about to turn 16 in a couple days and I have my learners permit

I passed on the first try and i've had it for a couple months

Well I live in WV here you need 30 hours of driving with an adult or 21 year old that has been licensed for more then a year to get your license

I've already completed that

But i also have to get my license before 12/4/08 or i have to take the permit test again.

I haven't taken drivers ed yet. Do i really need to take it?

I know that it lowers your insurance

but should I get my license now or take drivers ed?

[isn't drivers ed just to help with learners permit, will it really help to get my license?]

  1. It's A Hassle But TRUST ME You Will Be Happy That You Did It. You Do Not Want To Be One Of Those Kids That Have No Idea On How To Drive. I Also Feel That It May Make You A Better Driver And You Will Avoid More Accidents If You Practice On Your Driving Skills.

  2. Yes you do. First it will improve your driving skills. Second it will save you and your parents a ton of money.

Your lack of understanding of the purpose of drivers ed shows that you need it.

btw-if you think it won't improve your driving skills you are wrong.

  3. Apparently not, although you must be enrolled in school.

    School Enrollment Form

A valid school enrollment form is required to perform any drivers license transaction for any person under the age of 18. This form also fulfills the residency requirement if the school enrollment form has a physical address listed for the address. If the school enrollment form has a PO Box then the applicant is required to provide 2 additional proofs of residency from the residency list. The school enrollment form can be obtained at the school in which the student attends. A home schooled student must obtain a form through their county Board of Education in the county, which they resided. A student attending school out of state can pick up an out of state school enrollment form at any DMV Regional office or testing center. This form must be completed by the school principal, and must be accompanied by a letter from the school on their letterhead. Also you are required to show 1 proof of WV residency if you attend a school out side of WV. If the applicant has already graduated from school and has not reached the age of 18 then a diploma can be used in place of the school enrollment form. Additional proofs of enrollment are as follows, GED enrollment making satisfactory progress or present a certificate of completion for the program. Enrolled in an institution of higher learning as a full time student.

  4. It depends on your state laws.  You may not HAVE to take it, but I would recommend it.  Even if you have your permit (or your license), the extra education never hurts and the extra driving time is beneficial as well.  You (or should I say your parents) will definitely welcome the discount on the insurance.
