Mexicans are increasingly targeting Americans.

The U.S. government has travel warnings about the dangers of traveling to Mexico. There is a lot of robbing and killing.

However, it is safe to travel to Canada.

No, you do not need a tourist visa if you are a permanent U.S. resident. Just need your Green Card or your passport with an INS stamp showing your residency status in the USA

Why would you want to go to Mexico?  Do you know how many people have been robbed at the hands of Mexican criminals?  People who have gone on bus trips to Mexico have had their cameras and money stolen and some have even been hurt.  Unless you are going to a special high priced tourist trap like Acapulco, Mexico is probably not a safe place to go.  We know people who have gone to Mexico to see the sights, have rented bicycles and have had their credit cards charged to the max by the theives who stated they would report the bicycles stolen if the money wasn't signed over.  Additionally, Mexican purse-snatchers watch for American Citizens and tourists who are waiting to cross the street and they ride up on their scooters --the driver and one man riding behind him -- and they snatch the purses off the arms of women and cameras and briefcases from men.  They are off and running and the Mexican Police think its funny.  

Why don't you visit the Grand Canyon or some other great tourist attraction in the USA and spend your money here?  You will be much safer.
