Do i text my best friend, who ive fallen for?

i know he likes me, but he's never asked me out b/c he feels uncomfortable in relationships. as far as i know, he doesnt know that ive fallen (hard) for him. ever since my best friend casually asked him if hed take me to homecoming, why not, why he wont ask me out, etc. hes stop starting conversations with me. he used to do this daily, in school and over texts. the other day though, he did walk by, place his hand on my shoulder, start walking backwards and say something like "itll be okay" (totally random, i think he was just making conversation..( : ) but anyways. do i text him...or does that seem pushy and obvious since my friend asked those questions..?

totaly txt him! you like him, he likes you, and there should be no problem! explain in the txt message that you know hes not good with relationships but you like him anyway!
