  1. What they said^

  2. Gravity is the sum of forces brought about by centrifugal energy emanating from the core of mass. As planets and moons rotate they create a form of energy so things are pulled towards the center. At least that's part of the theory.

But mass acts in 3 physical dimensions as those intersect with time.

If you are at the center of centrifugal force you have no gravity but the center acts on all parts.

Other forces come into play as well.

However, suffice it to say, at the center of the moon there will be zero gravity. So you will weigh nothing at the center and as you leave the center your weight will increase the closer you get to the surface and towards the outer envelope of the moon's gravitational pull.

Think of it this way. If the earth stopped rotating, people would likely fly off probably at 29,000 miles per hour.

  3. NO, YOU ARE WEIGHTLESS AT THE CENTER AS THE MOON PULLS EQUALLY IN ALL DIRECTIONS.

YOU WEIGH THE MAX. AT THE SURFACE BECAUSE ALL OF THE MOON IN BELOW YOU AND CLOSE TO YOU.

  4. At the center of a planet, its gravitational field is zero.  You have the same amount of mass above you as below you (and left vs. right, and front vs. back), so all the gravitational forces cancel.

The strength of a planet's gravitational field is always highest at the surface.

  5. You do realize that you'd have to dig a hole 1738 km deap to get to the center of the moon; right?! The moon ain't a flat disk glued to the sky; it's a sphere, just like Earth, but smaller.

Any, yes; the others are correct; there's no gravity at the center of the moon.

  6. The others are correct, and on the surface of the moon, you weigh roughly 1/6 that of your weight on Earth.
