The Insignifigance of Dawn

The flailing parts of dawn

reached the oak’s top bend

and hung there, insignificant

and smooth to the eye.

They want

not

to be in the way

so I scratch the air with a twitching finger,

petting the arc

of wonder.

  1. Yes, you've just reminded me how much they do.....really nice!

I love dawn...but usually only see it if still awake from the night before.......need to be getting up early, instead

  2. I feel this stunning image with 20/20 vision, I hope it feels my applause!  Bravo, sir!

  3. Good imagery both has feelings

    and causes feelings.

You just bought me back to a crisp fall

morning when I was about 12.

    Good feelings.

  4. Yes, I think so. The image can be so poigant and beautiful that it feels right no matter what anyone else says.

    Beautiful my dear boy. LOL

  5. Yes, they do. Beautiful poem!!!

  6. i dont see the question

    but the poem is good

  7. Yes they do! At least mine does!

  8. Images do not have feelings, they encompass (contain) the feelings drawn by the imaginer ( poet). It takes another imaginer to decode those feelings from such image into another image which carries his/her own feelings. That is why a (one) poem may be interpreted into many pictures, images, or meaning.

  9. No, they don't have feelings. Images create feelings. The image of a new dawn to me signifies a new beginning however so minute and insignificant to some.

  10. thats amasing did u write that

  11. Beautiful,it brings me a feeling of peace and contentment, even though I'm so not a morning person.

  12. A sunrise is just a collection of matter and light,

    until it reaches the brain,

where the mind makes it right

For as the Bhuddists say of the Zen

and the place where the angels have lain

    Beauty always comes from within.

So the answer you seek can in no way be felt

Though you scratch the surface and find

What lies in the place where the sacred have knelt.

But your eyes only see what's revealed in your mind.

So carry on Buk with your poet's heart

in search of the wonder in petting the arc.

And may a pilgrim's peace  go with you today

As you reach out through space, may God lead your way.

  13. this poem made me want to experience "the arc of wonder"

  14. Beautiful! :)

  15. I like to feel at one with nature.  Ride the waves, float on a cloud, watch the wind blowing thru the fields....

  16. Another good one!

  17. Yes well they do now.

  18. trees do get in the way. the feeling doesn't come from images it comes from within ourselves as we look on them

  19. you are a deep old thing really ain't ya!...that's great.....and yes I think images do have feelings ...or perhaps images bring out feelings in people........for me personally anything that is aesthetic to the eye sparks up all kinds of feelings and thoughts and even some that are most strange.......

  20. Yes.. and their feelings are felt within us when we see the beauty of dawn..Nice..

  21. And it says the trees can clap their hands to praise the lord also I remember this:For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,  that spreads out his roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but his leaf shall be green; and shall not be anxious/careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

The images are all from God. He has feelings.

  22. ..IMAGES not even have their own feelings.. but they also have the feelings of the painter..

    Nice poem BUK

  23. images do have feelings and leave them forever in my memory

  24. The imagery is great,I love the dawn time.Thank you for the vivid description.

  25. i think so because the good book says that the rocks will cry out in praise in our place.

  26. Some images have purpose of message and

were created with a desire be heard.

The dawn, which is hardly insignificant,

    a rainbow,

a waterfall at the mouth of a river....

these images want to be heard

    and when so,

    fulfill their purpose.

    Always

  27. The feelings are imbedded in it, though the image does not know it. Great poem!
