Do insects feel pain at all?

  1. Their nervous systems and brains are not well developed enough to register pain.


  2. Id say yes, and they are adapted to attack/defend/camo/speed to avoid getting killed or hurt.

    Beattles have armor.

    Crickets have camouflauge.

    Ants have both armor and jaws.

    Dragonflies and other flying insects have speed.

  3. I would say yes. If they didn't then how would they avoid things that might cause them harm. If they didn't you could place a cricket on a hot plate and he would not attempt to jump off. If they did not why would they evolve defense mechanisms that irritate to ward off would be predators?If they felt no discomfort or pain why would they attempt to burrow down to avoid cold? Why would they avoid drowning? Why would they fear being eaten? I believe people give other creatures too little credit for how they feel and respond.
