Do japanese restaurants serve pork?

we had a fight ove wether or not japanese restaurants serve pork or not and i just wanted to know who is right?And i am chosing best answer

yes, they do. however, the japanese kitchen is mostly a collection of fish dishes. the japanese hardly have meat recipes. and actually most japanese meat recipes come from the 17-19h  because tehy realised that european traders would be pleased with servings of meat.

Yes, they do..sweet and sour pork is one of my favorites.

Yes, they do serve pork.

The Japanese word for pork is Buta. One of the most popular is Tonkatsu, a crisp, breaded porkchop.

There;s also Buta no Kakuni, a simmered dish which I like during winter.

Another pork fried dish is Kushiage, pork slices on skewers.

Pork is also a mainstay in Oden, a winter stew that traditionally keeps simmering over a native fireplace throughout winter, with stuff being added everyday.

So the answer really is: YES, Japanese cuisine uses pork!

ginger pork, pork cutlets, etc, are all a part of japanese cuisine, not to be confused with CHINESE cuisine, which was what the first answer listed.

Yes!  My favorite is Pork Katsu.

Yes they serve pork.  Gyoza (Japanese potstickers) have pork in them, and they have a breaded fried pork cutlet they call a "katsu".  Katsu can be served alone in a bento (lunch/dinner box), or with curry, or a donburi (a bowl of rice with "stuff" on it.)  Katsu-donburi is one of my favorites and is made with a sliced katsu, onions, egg and a sweetened soy sauce mixture.

The 7-11's in Japan also have cold sandwiches made with sliced katsu, lettuce and potato salad in them.  They're delicious.
