Do jeans and and half chaps look wierd?

Hey, i am an english rider but I am not doing jumping right now so i don't really want to wear jods or breeches but i want to wear half chaps so do they look weird over jeans?

no they wont look werid and all jeans have the same thicknes offf heam and i think they would be better then rding in any thing english  a insetercoter at my old barn sometimes made english riders wear sweet pants in the winth because trhere jeans werent good enough (and if you just started there she would make all students even not hers ride what she wanted you too)

I am an English rider and it doesn't bother me nor does it look funny in my opinion. I wear paddock boots and put on my half chaps and am ready to go. It's never bothered me and i like them better than tall boots because they are hard to break in while half chaps aren't such a hassle.

nope - thats what I always wear, even when jumping apart from when showing. This is mainly cause I'm not one of the skinny types that look good in jods and comfortable jeans are just as easy to ride in as jods.

No I don't think so, but does it really matter if it looks weird? I usually get all dirty and sweaty anyways, so I don't really care what I wear :P Although, I have ruined more pairs of jeans by riding in them than I can count, so be careful :)

No, they look really good over jeans. I always wear mine with my jeans. That's what they were designed for.

i wear jeans and boots/chaps over them.  I'm mainly doing trails and a little bit of jumping. But I just finished showing so I figured I'd ride in jeans

Half chaps are really easy to get off and on, and well I know I've never complained about the guys bum being so nicely packaged !!! A lot of girls in Oklahoma wear them too... the boys here certainly don't complain LOL! I guess my point is it's a personal choice. Like any trend u have to consider where u live. I know one thing if u get tossed (and mind u I have'nt But I assume at somepoint everybody gets their turn) I rather land on leather !!! It also protects from brush!

riding in jeans is awesome and ok. it doesnt hurt it might run on your leg where your boot is but other then that you should be fine

Chaps.They are normally for COLD Weather so if its not cold then dont wear them

i completely understand you on not wanting to wear jods or breeches. they're tight and can sometimes be uncomfortable if the weather is really hot.

riding with half-chaps over jeans rather than just jeans is better since you get more grip on the saddle. oh and yes i agree with the person above... a better time to wear them is during the winter/spring/fall. :]

another good thing to wear in hot weather are regular chaps.

i sometimes wear those. you can just throw on shorts, then slip the chaps over them when you ride.

that way you can stay cool and dont have to change.

and if you're hosing your horse off, you dont have to get your chaps wet.

some girls at my barn wear shorts with half chaps.

i always thought that would be uncomfortable because your skin would be pinched, but they dont seemed to mind.

i tried it once, and it wasnt that bad, except i was at a horse camp and i was waiting for other girls to do a jumping course, and my knees got sunburned:[ lol

I ride with jeans and half chaps a lot more than I do with breeches.  So do all the other junior riders at my barn.

No they dont, i wear them all the time. I dont like wearing breeches at all cause i feel like i am wearing nothing, anyways I am an english rider who never jumps and i wear both. half chaps and jeans work just fine and look normal.

No they don't look weird, but many brands of jeans have an uncomfortable inside seam. I prefer to ride in breeches and half chaps when I ride English. Remember that proper riding attire is designed to assist you in your sport, not work against you. Its just more comfortable. imho.

don't worry about it.  i do it every day and i jump so it doesn't matter.  plus i find it more comfortable and i'm okay with them getting dirty.

ew i really hate riding in jeans they seams are way to thick for my pereference

but when i didn't have breeches and i wore jeans i wore skinny jeans with my half chaps now i have a collection of breeches i think flares would be bunchy and you chaps wouldnt fit and boot cut jeans might bunch up as well

just wear tights or skinny jeans!

and no.. half chaps do not look weird over jeans but i think it's really uncomfortable

I am and english rider and all i do is ride at my arena. No jumping or anything and i wear riding tights, more relaxed than breeches, they are nice for schooling.

and by the way, half chaps with jeans dosent look too silly. If youdont want tights just keep wearing them.
