Do journalists actually major in journalism?

I want to go to FSU but they do not offer journalism as ?

major.. I' ve heard from some people that most journalists dont even major in Journalism- more like communications or English..But then again I've heard that communications is looked upon as a "easy major". Any journalists out there that can help me out?! Even non-journalists... just let me know!

Most do in one fashion or another, but ability to write in a style that is presentable in media is key.  You could also major in English.

My mother majored in Journalism and Communication. She got internship in one of a major newspaper. But that was then in their time.

Things have change now. You have to at least know more than what you majored in to work in the field you wanted to be, especially if you want to be a journalist.
