They do. Their headsets are in their helmets. They will shoot off all the rounds they can carry before they use the biggest round they got. Up until then, they keep in radio contact.

It was not a helmet that they wore it was a leather or cloth skull cap for warmth and it had the earphones built into to it.  Conditions in those old planes were cold at altitude and noisy.  Earphones were necessary because of the noise of the engine.   It might have been a one way trip but they still used their radios.

No, as a matter of fact they don't/didn't.  The pilots of the Japanese Empire wore tight fur-lined leather caps fitted with a lower band that covered the back of their necks and their ears.  The sole purpose was warmth.

Only squadron leaders had radios in their airplanes, so only a few had headsets.  They operated as a group by means of hand signals and prior orders.

No they were samurais, so they would wear samurai battle armor, and that means the steel helmet,the steel body armor the twin samurai swords etc:-) Grrrr!

Ok fine now to answer the question.

Yeah they wore a leather cap those days which also housed the communication device, ie: headphones and microphone, so they could talk to their fellow kamakazee dudes and or the aircraft carrier they were from.

PS: Msg 2 RUK9p to answer your question...one recent day comes to mind. SEPTEMBER 11th 2001. That was kamakazee too with jetliners instead of fighter planes.
