  1. Yes but only if you choose the NHS free frames.  I wouldn't recommend somewhere like specsavers for an eye test.  You need to go to a 'real' opticians.  They have free glasses for children too and from experience will provide a better service. I take my children to a small family firm and they are excellent, always remember you and your childrens names etc.  Just like the old days.

  2. After the eye examination the optician will give you a voucher to use towards glasses (if they are needed). Most opticians will make the value of the voucher up so that you can choose a pair of glasses free of charge. There will be a range of frames to choose from, designer frames will always cost you a little. The amount depends on the designer. A high-street designer like bench or oasis will cost less than your true designers like gucci, armani and prada.

Just a little advice... Everyone should always use the same opticians. The optometrist can do a much better eye examination for you if you have been to them before, a full history is invaluable for detecting problems or unusual changes, like a large prescription change. It is also recommended by all opticians that you have the glasses where you have the eye exam as it makes it much easier to change things if you have a problem. If this is the first test your daughter is having then look around and pick an opticians you can get to easily (children need more regular exams than adults), an optician that you like and a range of glasses you like.

  3. you could get a voucher to specsavers but i doubt they are free nowadays who doesn't have to pay but i think if you searched it on google you'd get weird answers so i searched and searched and came up with it!

i know its obvious but if that doesn't work i recommend you go there and ask them don't worry maybe they are not as expensive as grown up ones they are £75 come on its only glasses are the made out of gold.

    : ) good luck!

  4. In some Specsavers stores you can get designer children's glasses.  However unlike the free NHS glasses, these designer glasses will cost you £30.  I have to admit the designer glasses are really cosmetically attractive, but there are some NHS glasses which are similar to the designers.

Just bring in your prescription to Specsavers and the voucher (if you were given one!)

  5. yes but if in UK try tescos there nice hun

  6. Yes, on the NHS, the designer ones, like Bench, isn't free, I got funky glasses on the NHS there! Specsavers rules.
