  1. Yes they can.  My son did.  He's a Marine now.

  2. you dont grow them out of it... that is something that gets better when they get older... most of the times... in other cases they never get to control their insticts sorry but time its your only hope

  3. well.my bf had it all his life growing up,and it rears its ugly head now and then, but he makes a conscious effort to not let it run his life.but,no,you never really outgrow it.

  4. some kids out grow it and can be normal functioning adults in society and hold down jobs, have relationships and live a nice full life.  Others no they don't out grow it and will have constant struggles throughout life.  We has the parent can try our best to groom them for life, give them the tools they need and be supportive...I worry to that my twins has they grow that they won't make it, but the more educated the parents are too, really helps.  Good luck and keep your head up...

  5. A child won't grow out of it, but it can change form.  My son has been diagnosed with this and when he was younger (almost 11 now), he was a fairly hyper child.  Now, I've had 4 boys, so I know how boys are and he was above and beyond.  He could never sit still and had to be watched constantly.  Now, he doesn't take any medication for it and is a fairly mellow child.  He currently isn't even having a problem getting his papers done at school.  I wouldn't say he outgrew it, but more that he adapted to it.  Every once in a while, I still see signs...like when he gets up in the morning and paces around in circles while talking a mile a minute.  He's the only one of my kids that does that.  Anyway, for a lot of kids, medication is not a life-long fix.  They use the meds while they are younger and haven't learned yet about controlling their impulses.  As they start to get a little older, this is something they can begin to do.  That being said, there are some kids that will always need medication to focus.....otherwise they would never accomplish a task.  If your child is one of these, behavior modification therapy would probably be very beneficial.
