Dad was born in the US, mom was born in England.

When dad was 13 he moved to England with family and became a citizen.

When mom and dad married, they moved to the US having 2 kids there.

  1. yes but only if you registered the kids with the UK embassy or consulate.


  2. depends on when kids were born!

    A person who has a British mother currently has a right to register as a British citizen if:

    he or she was born between 7 February 1961 and 1 January 1983; and

    he or she would have become a British citizen if women had been able to pass on citizenship in the same way as men at that time.



    Born after 1 January 1983 Yes.

    Born before 7 February 1961 No but a change in the law is being worked on.

    Any way you look at it you should inform the British Embassy or consulate as soon as possible. Maybe even get them a passport!
