Do kids play outside anymore??

Question

I hardly ever see a group of neighborhood kids just running and playing. Do kids have any freedom anymore either?

kids are always inside using their computers and playing video games. kids dont really go out much...

not since video games and i pods they don't even want to ride bikes anymore sad isn't it?

No. There are too many indoor activities to occupy them. (Like video games)

I want to play outside with my friends but they never go outside 8(

they are to busy on the computer so thats why im forced to play on the computer to have fun.

My kids have been in Organized Sports of one form or another since they were 4 years old, my Girls in Cheerleading (8 years) and Track (2 years)and my Son,T-Ball ,Coach Pitch Baseball, Soccer from ages 4-9...then Football ages 9-Present and Wrestling ages 9-Present...I intentionally kept them ALL active knowing MOST kids do nothing but sit on their rears in front of the T.V. or play Video Games All Day Everyday...we are raising a Generation of Unhealthy, Overweight Kids that will die by the time they are 50 if something is not done...

My grandchildren are allowed to play out the front of their house but mostly they play in their own back yard. They're very active and run, ride bikes, jump on the trampoline, climb on things and generally do the same things my own did. Some things they do differently these days like playing sports on Wii but basically kids haven't changed that much here in Australia.

in other countries? for sure. lived in philippines during my childhood and im always outside playing with my friends. basketball court is mostly filled with kids and pretty much anyone. i honestly didnt quite felt threatened by my neighborhood. not bad at all

but now that were here in US, i dont see much kids outside-in my place atleast. my lil bro doesnt really go out mainly because he have something to do indoors like computer games. but we do go to places like chuck-e-cheeses, incredible pizza, bowling, etc.
