Do kids wear underwear with a cup in pee wee football

Question

I know this is a really stupid question but my son just started football and my husband says he isn't supposed to wear underwear with the cup. Now its not one of the cups that is made into the underwear its basicly just a waistband and just straps for the leg holes. How can he not wear underwear with that and then just put the pants with pads on. I just dont get it. please help and no means answers, I just don't have a clue about this stuff.

Yes he should definitely wear underwear underneath! it will be much more comfortable for him, plus if u dont do it and if he wears white pants, people will practically be able to see through his pants!

yes wear underwear  not only will it be uncomfortable what is pants slid off or rip?  then kids will make fun of him alot
