Do kissing beetles live near me?

i saw this program on discovery talking about bugs they said there a bug thats a beetle thats like a mosquito a blood sucking tube i heard they have parasites in their digestive system and can spread to humans i live in California and i have nightmares about it PLEASE HELP MEEEE

  1. Kissing beetles are mostly found in poor areas, with poor sanitation.  Most commonly found in South America.  

    If your house is kept clean, it's unlikely that you have kissing beetles within miles of your house.

    Triatomid bugs occur in North America as well as Central and South America, and research has shown that they carry T. cruzi in all areas where they are found; however, the incidence of transmission to humans in North America is low. This may be because of better housing, relatively low levels of contact between humans and animal reservoirs, and the habits of the bugs themselves (some species do not defecate while biting, while others are simply not as efficient at transmitting the parasite).
