Question:

Do lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza have enough range on their shot to play small forward for the Lakers?

With Bynum on the block and Gasol on the high post any Laker small forward would have difficulty finding space in the piant to get points. According to the NBA's Hot Spots it's apparent that Odom and Ariza don't shoot well from the outside. Both player get most of their points in the paint.

  1. odom can handle the ball as good as any SF.He will take the smaller forwards to the rim.As a 4th option he will be great.

  2. I say Trevor Ariza should do it

  3. odom was a good shooter, i think he lost confidence in his jumpshot but he can shoot

  4. I say lakers starting line up should be

    C-Bynum

    PF-Pau Gasol

    SF-Kobe Bryant

    SG-Sasha

    PG-Fisher

  5. Both are pretty avg shooters so they are not ideal to play SF but what other position is available for them?

  6. Ariza has the skills to be the long range shooter for the Lakers, however, he needs some more playing time to gain some confidence. In regards to Odom, the advantage to playing him at Small Forward is that he creates quite a mis-match. There are not many SFs with the ability to cover him on the offensive end, especially if he posts up. Therefore, I would play Odom over Ariza at the SF with Ariza coming off the bench as an energy player and a shooter, to break up and zone defenses.

  7. Trevor Ariza is not a shooter, hes a wingman and defender. He plays very good defense, and can go from the wing on a fast break and get a dunk.

What lamar brings to the team ( only 50% of the time) is just unbeleivable, he brings versitility and a range of things.

  8. they both have their ups and downs but do not need to have nice range as a small forward
