Do large companies check your credit report,prior to employment,does your credit stop you from employment?

Many companies do check your background and/or credit when considering you for employment.  Depending on the job, this could cost you.

When a job requires lots of trust, such as job where you would frequently handle money or have access to sensitive information (i.e. credit card info, etc.), many companies consider it risky to higher people with excessive amounts of debt.  The reasoning is that someone who is in massive debt has extra incentive and may be more likely to steal money.
