I have good enough grades to go to a good school, but not the money. By going to Ferris State I can live at home which would save money. My plan is to go to Ferris State University (not the best reputation but not that bad) and then go to law school. will the top law schools in the state, University of Michigan, and Michigan state law school, care that I went to ferris?

  1. I went to CMU and got into MSU Law.   What you are doing is perfectably reasonable, law school is expensive so you might as well save money while you can.  U of M would require stellar grades and a near perfect LSAT, but they occasionally accept a ferris or CMU grad.  Good luck, good grades and high LSAT.

  2. Makes no difference where you did undergrad, so long as your grades are high, have good recommendations from professors, and did well on the LSAT's.

  3. Realistically, yes, it does make A difference, but not necessarily THE difference.  Your chances of getting into a good law school would be better if you had gone to a strong undergrad school, but if you do extremely well at Ferris State, it is still possible to get in.
