Do life insurace companies test for use of steroids?

i want to take out a $500K policy and want to know if life insurance companies will test for steroid use. I know they test for illicit drug use but i'm not sure about steroids.

  1. It will depend on the Life Insurance Company you go with.  Either way, for such a relatively small amount, it is unlikely that they will really delve deep enough to find steroids.

  3. Yes, it is done with the blood, they check for drugs, nicotine, diseases like cancer, diabetes, etc.

  4. They'll do metabolic blood tests . . .will steroid use show up?  Likely - but you'll have to explain why you're taking it.

  5. I've never heard of ANY insurance company test for drugs, steroids included. I've been insured for a total of 1Mill$. I do suppose it may be possible for multi-million $ insurance policies though.

    I seriously doubt it.

  6. They do test your blood and if levels show up that are out of whack they'll come back and ask why.
