Do local banks offer bullion?

i'm looking to invest in silver bullion and want to know if i can buy it and pick it up at banks

You are VERY SMART to want to buy silver. Silver is a metal that is used as both money to hedge against inflation and it is also consumed in manufactuting. Its used for all types of things. You DO NOT want to buy the ETF SLV. Thats would be a huge mistake. I buy all my silver through MONEX. Watch these links and you will begin to truly understand why its best to buy silver. I buy only the bullion coins because years from now they will not have to be assyed and they can and will function as true money. Sadly banks dont hold silver in reserve. In fact our own government doesnt hold silver in reserve. They have to buy it on the open market to produce the US silver bullion coins. Storing silver is simple. Just get a safe deposit box at any bank for a small annual fee. I store mine in my fireproof gun safe.

No.  They are not really in to that.  They were in to sub-prime mortgages so that their CEOs could reap a larger bonus.  

You can invest in silver bullion throught the index funds  SLV.  That is the least expensive and safest way to invest in silver by far.  Buy it like a stock through a brokerage account like Scottrade.

You do not have to worry about storing it or having it robbed from you or insuring it.
