Do lots of people participate in Festival forI emanja or are most people in Brazil afraid of Candombl?

  1. Yes lots of people participate of Yemanja (Iansa) festivities.  Mainly the coastal area of Brazil where boats adorned with flowers participate in processions.  Candomble is followed by many, being an African root religion has been mainly followed by people  descendants of slaves in Brazil.  I think many people would be afraid of Candomble, but that's because people are afraid of what they don't know.


  2. People do participate in the Iemanja festival but not everybody. Just those who are interested. The same for condomble. Not everybody is interested or cares for it. Most Brazilians couldnt be bothered.

  3. Not afraid, just different faith. I know people that prefer to be away from it, but not afraid.

  4. You mean Yamanjá , the queen of the sea. And Candomblé, an African religion, very old.

    Nobody here is afraid of these practises. It´s commom to see in the street corners lots of dishes in honor of these saints.
