Do lumens add up?

I have a 3200 lumen headlight pair and I was wondering that if I get another 3200 lumen pair will it add up to 6400 lumens and be super bright or will it just be a little bit brighter that the first pair when I turn on the second pair.

no, and here's why.

lumens are a measure of LIGHT INTENSITY.  if you take something of one intensity, and add another of the same, your net intensity will not increase.  you'll have more COVERAGE, but it will be the same intensity.

you can take a luxometer and do this experiment yourself if you don't believe me.
