  1. Magazine ownership is a business. They prosper on sales and advertising. s*x sells, plain and simple. I wouldn't say that magazines are outright telling teens to have s*x, but they know that the more visually enticing and racy their magazine is, the more likely it is that teens will buy it. Since you have to be 18 to buy "adult" magazines - they'll push it to the limit to get their magazine into their hands and their teen money into their hands.

  2. You'd be amazed at the words in books and magazines in middle school libraries. Words that were not acceptable many years ago, the students don't even blink at today. Examples - sucks, lust, how to french kiss, to name a few. The parents are still in the 60's and 70's so they object but student see nothing wrong with it. So the answer to your question, "Yes", it does seem magazines encourage or sway teens participate or at least consider casual s*x or lust between peers.

  3. They aren't helping any....Society is to blame for today's unacceptable behavior. It is so common we are desensitized to many things that we would cringe at 20 years ago. Showing images of teen idols for example can only encourage the lust inside every teen girl who wallpapers their rooms with them.
