machine-shop production type jobs in larger plants been replaced by fully automated and integrated computerised machines and robots?

  1. Yes they do, it is not worth using computerised machines unless you have a batch of large enough quantity to warrant programming the machine. Therefore often small batches or one off jobs will be machind manually.
