Do males still lead in the English society?

it is said that England always was a land of males where men enjoyed a better social status than women.that's why the country's music scene has always been led by males and no doubt that England has given the world the better performers and musicians in the music history making America and other English-speaking countries fall behind her.Margaret Thatcher whom I feel great admiration,was the only female becoming PM and still called "The Iron Lady"
