  1. The Amazonian manatee Trichechus inunguis lives in the Amazon basin.

    Like all manatees they are adapted to eat the water plants found in the river. Manatees like warm water and will search out the warmest stretches.

    Most of the research on manatees has been carried out on those in Florida, so very little is known about the other species and what differences there might be between them.


  2. yes, manatees live in the Amazon River.  As far as adaption, I have no idea.  I think it's the North American Manatee that would need adaption.

  3. Manatees are in the Amazon River to serve as food for the crocs.
