I do, since it is like texting i use it all the time.  For people like me who have a phone but not a plan or not a very good one, minutes run out very quickly, so im is an easy was to stay connected with friends and family for free.

I don't.  It just doesn't interest me.  My sister is always trying to get me to use mine but I never do.

I do all the time because I work out of state and the people around me really lack interesting conversation.

All the time.  Its great.  I love it.  Its instanteous.  Its easy.  And you can have live conversations with multiple people.

I have been trying to get my parents into it, but they dont understand the concept.  7 years ago when I was still at home, they thought the messenger programs like yim and aim would put viruses on their computer, so I got in trouble everytime I downloaded it or used the java versions.

And now, they are convinced that it wont work over dial up (They live in a rural area and do not have broadband access)

It's useful to me cuz we don't get cell phone reception where I live.  So I can chat with friends.  And also they have a feature where you can text to cell phones from it...so it works out good.
