Marine = Water. Get over it. You're jumping off a diving board, you aren't diving and being scored based on that. You're 13' in the air, give or take, and you take a step off.

If you're afraid of heights, maybe I should warn you about the 65' high repel tower where you're suspended by nothing more than a rope you yourself tie around your pelvic region. Good luck.

im assuming that you saw the USMC's new ad. the answer is yes, officers have to jump to.  Officvers do just about everything that the enlisted do at boot, except its called The Basic School, ot TBS for short.  if you want to be a marine, then you will jump.  if not, you can go the easy route and join the army!
