Yes I know this is an odd question. On a mattress is there a top side and a bottom side? Is the top of a mattress the side where the label usually is?

  1. Generally there is not a top and bottom side. As a matter of fact, you should turn your mattress over about one a month to keep it firm.

  2. it's not an odd question.  some mattresses are manufactured with a top and bottom, and others are reversible.  If your mattress has a top or pillowtop, you will definately be able to tell.  Most mattresses are reversible so that you can flip it and get even wear out of it.

  3. Depends on the mattress, really. You'd have to ask the store where you bought it to be really sure of the answer.

"Pillow-top" mattresses and those "finished" with quilted fabric  on only one of the large surfaces would obviously only have a top side but most mattresses finished on both large surfaces are intended to be used and flipped every so often for even wear.

  4. Yea...

Don't think that it really matters which way round you have it but normally there would be a label and I think that is meant to face up.

  5. The label is usually at the bottom side of the mattress.....sometimes it may be on the top side.....but rarely the label is found on top...

  6. There are actually several types of mattresses, the standard and most common is a double sided mattress where it is finished on both sides (I'm assuming this is what you have). With this style mattress you should flip / rotate them to add to it's longevity. So which ever side is on the bottom is not the top.

  7. Well I've heard it's good to flip your mattress every so often so I'm assuming that it could go either way.
