i have three medical bills from when i had to go to the hospital back in june. i have made a payment arrangement on two of them and one was only 80.00 im paying that one in full without a problem. the other two are 2,000 something and 500 something. they are set up on arrangements, due to some financial issues in my household i have had to take over alot of the bills which has caused me to miss a payment on my credit cards which i have never been late (i'm paying those on the 15th) and alot of other minor things. will they report me to the credit people for not paying them even if i call and tell them the situation but i give them a later date to pay? if it is reported does it look bad and will it effect my score because i have a very good credit score. any information about medical bills and credit issues will help me out alot! thanks

  1. Any time you have to pay a bill late always call and let them know.  Keep notes of who you spoke to, date, time.  As long as you pay as promised they don't usually put in credit bureau.

If it were to be reported and you pay it off the report show how many times you were late.

Medical bills as a rule go to a "different" credit bureau.  I personally owe a hospital $23,000 from when my husband had a heart attack.

Knowing we didn't have insurance they put it in the medical credit bureau without even sending me a bill to let me make arrangements.  I pay them $25.00 a month.  I would pay more a month on it but they p***** me off!  My credit rating is still 850, so as I said be open and honest and you'll do just fine.

    Good Luck To You

  2. medical bills can show on your credit if it goes to collection the best thing for you is to contact the collection agency about those bills and explain the situation and ask for a monty extension on your payment most will be happy to do that concidering there already making a profit since its a collection agency second yes contact your credit card company normally anything over 30 days late is reported but contact them and explain alot of companies offer a defer payment for 30 days so you wont have to pay that month and yes missing payments can hurt your score but i do not know your credit history so hard to say how bad or
