Do medical schools care what your volunteer hospital work entailed?

If you were just doing custodial duties, is it irrelevant that you volunteered at a hospital? Is any volunteer work done at a hospital, even if it isn't clinical, a plus on an application?

  1. Any volunteer work period for whatever field a person enters is important.  It shows you care and that you get involved.  It also shows that you can handle responsibility...hey, if you were going to school full time and volunteering and maybe had a job too...multi-tasker!
