yes a known side effect of some medication is in fact that of constipation. the effects can last as long as the medication in some cases and in others the body will readjust to the drug and get back to a normal functioning so the length of time is impossible to be accurate with as we all have different metabolic rates and the size of the body and its fitness also play a part.

you should always refer to a chemist or a doctor if the side effect  becomes a problem and has lasted for longer than 48 hours where before normal expulsion of waste was every 24 hours.

depends on what medication. some do have this side effect. like ibuprofen that can give you constipation or diarrhoea as the side effects. iron tablets can give you constipation aswell. it really depends on what you are on. you need to check the leaflet inside the box that should tell you of any thing
