Do medicines like Airborne help alleviate colds or are they bogus?

I'm taking airbourne tonight, hoping it will help with my cold that just started today. Are there better alternatives or is Airbourne a good start?

I heard on the news recently that Airborne got sued because the product didn't do what they claimed it would-help PREVENT you from catching a cold.

If you already have a cold, I would suggest taking something else (Tomorrow, of course, don't mix something else with the Airborne!).

Can't make you get a cold. Can't hurt anything.

I usually just buzz myself up with cough syrup and wait till it's gone.

I don't know about anyone else, but I always seem to get sick the day after I take it, and when I don't, I don't get sick. When you are sick, though, I find that it makes a sore throat stop hurting for a while. If you feel a cold coming on, or just need relief, try sucking on a zinc lozenges. They work miracles.
